"Being invited to participate in Pasadena Photography Arts' Open Show was a special event for me. I was honored to have my work shown with such talented artists. It helped me grow as a photographer. And I made a few great friends."

– Jeff Larason, Creator/Host of The Crit House Podcast

"Presenting my work-in-progress at Pasadena Photography Arts' Open Show gave me a huge boost of confidence, important feedback, and several useful personal connections when I was first assessing opportunities to present my work. After that initial exposure my project placed in the Top Fifty at Photo Lucida Critical Mass 2020, won the 2021 CENTER Santa Fe Social Award, and this year was published as a monograph by Daylight Books as Ex Crucible: The Passion of Incarcerated Artists. The folks at PPA/Open Show have generously cheered me along this path."

– Peter Merts, Photographer, Documenting prison art programs in California
